I never heard about Once Upon a Convention (OUAC) until a friend posted about it on Facebook. All things fantasy: vendors, workshops, panels, games, fashion show, masquerade, and FANTASY BOOKS. I had to be a part of this!
I figured it was too late, so I joined the author waitlist. You can imagine my joyful surprise to be invited! The last con I attended as an author was Awesome Con in 2019—pre-Covid. The last book signing I did was at the Maryland Renaissance Festival for Page After Page books in 2021.
As an introvert, this puts my mental and emotional state somewhere between elated, terrified, and confused. Why am I confused? I have no idea. I just am.
OUAC is being billed as the first fantasybook convention in the country and the hype is so real. You’ll be transported into a fantasy realm, fully immersed in all sorts of fandoms with the opportunity to meet a wide range of fantasy authors, like-minded readers, and creative vendors. The world they’ve created sounds so exciting, I can’t wait until August!
Except, I’m glad I have to wait because I have so much to do to prepare for this event! What am I going to wear to the ball?!
